This small town is located along the Mighty Mississippi River and is a short drive from Memphis, TN. You will immediately recognize the racial segregation that still exists today. Your group will help share the gospel of Christ and help bring racial reconciliation.
The group during the week will be reaching out and ministering to the poor of this small town. Opportunities may include VBS, sports evangelism, park ministry, light construction, community outreaches, prayerwalks, nursing home visitation and sports evangelism.
Transportation
Groups may drive to the project site or fly into the Memphis Airport. Air and ground transportation during the week is not provided by ChildReach. You must provide your own transportation. We suggest that you bring or rent vans instead of using large busses.
Lodging
Your group will be staying at a local ministry located on the downtown square. The participants will be sleeping in a local warehouse that has been converted into dorms. Each participant will need to bring their own pillow and bedding. The dorms have bunkbeds that have a twin size mattress.
